Baccarat is quite a lovely game, and it is one that has been enjoyed by people from many walks of life. It’s simple to learn, and does not require much effort in terms of strategy.
What is baccarat?
Baccarat began in Italy several hundred years ago and was introduced to Europe by French soldiers during Napoleon’s 13th century conquest. The rules were later refined into the game that exists today: a player vs dealer card game played with 3 or 4 decks where bets are placed on either player or banker (similar to blackjack, but without the ability to split).
There are two options for betting: a player bet and a banker bet. The goal of บาคาร่าis to get as close to 9 with a total value of your hand or your banker’s total. Aces count as 1, face cards count as 0, and all other cards have their designated values. Hands both start at 0 and end at 9. The player bets win if the final score is closest to 9 with a value over 7 (less than 9 does not win), and the banker bets win if it is closest to 9 with a value under 7. In case of a tie, whoever has the higher amount wins.

How to play
The game starts out by dealing 2 cards to both the player hand and banker hand. The first card drawn has to fall between the first two cards dealt, otherwise it’s an instant bust for that player/banker – depending on which one it was. If the first card drawn is a 10, J, Q, or K then that means you’ve hit and can choose to continue drawing cards until your hand meets your desired total (the player obviously continues on their turn until they stop; the banker only draws once). The other options are to stand (to stop hitting) or to double down (if allowed by the house for an extra fee, of course). If you happen to bust at any time during your turn, then that’s it – you’re out and lose automatically
